About UsWe are licensed by the Ministry of Education and follow guidelines and requirements set out in the Child Care and Early Years Act. Our play based programming follows the four foundations of the How Does Learning Happen Pedagogy - Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement and Expression. This helps to foster and nurture a wonderful early learning environment for your little one. The adventures they experience here will be a stepping stone and make for a smoother transition into the Kindergarten program. We have a qualified teacher who creates a warm, welcoming, safe and creative environment for your little one to engage, explore and learn! Please see the "Typical Day" page to learn more about how our program works.

Who We Are |

Our school is a cooperative program that allows parents, grandparents or caregivers to participate in the nursery school experience by spending time with the children in the classroom each month.

Our History |
The Minnow Lake/New Sudbury Cooperative Nursery School has a long history here in the City of Greater Sudbury. Miss Cheryl first began educating preschoolers for the Cooperative in 1985. There are children all over the city and elsewhere that have had their first educational experience with Cheryl as their lead teacher. She can be held responsible for teaching them early literacy and numeracy skills as well as manners, getting along with others and sharing.
In 2015, our Nursery School was in fear of closing. With the closure of St. Andrew's School, the Nursery School was forced to seek a new location. It was Grace United Church (formerly St. Luke's United Church) who came to the rescue and offered a lovely, warm and inviting space for our wonderful program. Aside from finding a new location, we had to find a new teacher as our beloved Miss Cheryl felt it was time to retire. Jennifer Larche decided she would love the opportunity to keep the program running and was delighted to take over. Jennifer is an Early Childhood Educator and has lots of experience working with children and families. She has been the lead teacher at our school since 2015. |
